Latest Gladwyne Village makeover would ‘keep the quirk.’ Plans will continue to evolve.

May 28, 2026 / By Caroline O'Halloran / Leave a Comment /

Remember the Gladwyne Village overhaul we told you about in January? Well, that makeover has already received its own makeover. It’s no longer Gladwyne Square, no longer quite so polished, and no longer – as some had claimed – trying to be Nantucket.

After months of community feedback, the redevelopment team is floating a revised plan that keeps more of the village’s “quirk,” shifts tenants around, reduces retail square footage, rejiggers a new village green and parking lot.

May 20, 2026 / By Caroline O'Halloran / Leave a Comment /

After Brandywine Conservancy announced it would step away from operating the Radnor Hunt Races after 46 years, more than a few racegoers feared last Saturday’s 95th running might also be the last.

Some quietly wondered whether the Races might go the way of the Academy Ball or the Vassar Show House — once beloved institutions faded into memory.

Well, fear not.

May 12, 2026 / By Caroline O'Halloran / Leave a Comment /

“Inside the Game” turned into inside everything: the Phillies’ front office, the clubhouse – and at moments, John Middleton’s heart.

Heather’s Way: Why Argyle’s Heather King went from arranging flowers to rebuilding lives

May 9, 2026 / By Caroline O'Halloran / 3 Comments /

For years, Heather King’s Ardmore and Haverford flower shops helped the Main Line mark life’s biggest moments — weddings, birthdays, babies and funerals.

But behind Argyle’s flowers and French buckets, another kind of enterprise – equally lovely – was quietly taking place. Young people in early recovery from addiction kept finding their way to Heather.

On Wayne’s Restaurant Row, a high-stakes rebuild – and a year (or more) of disruption

May 3, 2026 / By Caroline O'Halloran / 6 Comments /

If you think North Wayne Avenue – Wayne’s unofficial Restaurant Row – is busy now, take a look at what’s on the drawing board.

Blueprints moving through Radnor Township’s approval process would reshape the heart of the street, replacing two century-old buildings with a three-story mixed-use project—and forcing a temporary shutdown of one of its most popular destinations.

Most Italian BYOBS on the Main Line feel like a family dinner.

Raff’s feels like a movie scene.

It’s Goodfellas meets date night: white tablecloths, black leather, red-and-gold lamps, dramatic chandeliers and a rogues gallery from The Godfather and The Sopranos guarding the room like capos.
